Trade fair
IIJS (Signature, Tritiya, Premiere)
IIJS is the gem and jewellery export council's show, held three times a year under three names, and it's the trade's front door to Indian jewellery makers. Exhibitors are council members only and there are no counter sales. It's a show for buyers with a jewellery business, not a place to pick up a few pieces.

One honest caveat - there's no hosted-buyer programme here, and international registration is paid and document-checked. We think that's worth it for the reason below, but it isn't a cheap trip.
A Story From The Other Door
In June 2024 a US buyer's case came up on an Indian forum. They had bought high-value jewellery remotely, over Instagram, from a shop in Jaipur's Johari Bazaar. What arrived was gold-polished silver sold as genuine, and it came with a third-party authenticity certificate (r/india, 2024 (opens in a new tab)).
That's the retail bazaar route, where the seller is a shop, the certificate can come from anyone, and nobody vets who you're dealing with. IIJS is the opposite door. Every exhibitor is a registered member of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, the buyer side is checked too, and you meet the exporter face to face with the goods on the table. It doesn't make a bad deal impossible, but it takes out the anonymous seller, which is where that buyer's trouble began.

GJEPC has published Signature and Premiere dates through 2030 on the same pages, so you can plan a year or two out.
Who Exhibits
GJEPC organises all three shows, and the business there is "exclusively for GJEPC members". Membership means a registered exporter of gems and jewellery. It doesn't prove an exhibitor cuts the stones or makes the pieces. Members include merchant exporters who work with karigar workshops, which is how much of this trade has always run.
So ask whose workshop makes your order, where it is, and who controls the metal and the stones. For certificates, ask which lab issued them and check the report number on that lab's own site rather than trusting the paper. The wider checks are in how to check an Indian supplier.
Hosted-Buyer Terms
As published in September 2026, there's no hosted programme. International registration is paid and document-checked, so check the current fee with GJEPC when you register. At the 2026 Premiere, GJEPC ran a lucky draw for buyers who collected 20 stamps from exporter stands, which is a nudge to walk the halls rather than a subsidy.
Visa And Getting There
Use the e-Business Visa, apply at least two weeks ahead, and ask GJEPC for an invitation letter once your registration is approved.
Mumbai splits Signature and Premiere across two venues, BKC and Goregaon, and the two halls open a day apart. GJEPC runs a shuttle between them. Plan which hall you need on which day before you land, because Mumbai traffic between the two can eat half a day. Tritiya is at BIEC on Tumkur Road in Bengaluru, which says Namma Metro runs from the venue (BIEC (opens in a new tab), read 25 September 2026).
What To Expect
Bring proof of your jewellery business, because registration is checked. There are no counter sales, so you're there to place orders and build supplier relationships, not to buy stock off the stand. Signature is the first design-led show of the calendar year, Premiere is the big one, and Tritiya in Bengaluru is the smallest and easiest to walk.
