Trade fair
Seafood Expo Bharat
Seafood Expo Bharat is the seafood fair run by MPEDA, India's marine products export authority. It's the one Indian show built entirely around seafood exporters, so if you import shrimp, fish or processed seafood then it's the fair to watch.

Here's why we like it - most people on the floor already export, so conversations start at plant approvals and testing rather than "do you ship abroad?". The caveat is that the 2027 dates aren't out yet.
Next edition
- Dates: Dates not yet announced. The organiser's site still shows the 2026 edition, 1 to 3 July 2026, Chennai Trade Centre (read 28 September 2026).

- City: Unknown
- Buyer registration: seafoodexpobharat.com (opens in a new tab), once the 2027 edition opens.
Who exhibits
MPEDA organises the fair, and exhibitors are seafood processors, exporters and allied firms, from feed and hatcheries to cold chain and packaging.
An MPEDA-registered exporter has an export track record. That doesn't prove it runs the plant that would process your order, because merchant exporters buy from processing plants and ship under their own name. That's normal. Ask which plant, whether that plant holds the approval number your destination requires, and who answers for quality if a container is held.
Hosted-buyer terms
No hosted package was published for 2026. Overseas delegates registered and paid their own way, so budget for the trip and check the current delegate registration with MPEDA when 2027 opens.
Visa
The e-Business Visa is the usual route. Apply at least two weeks ahead and ask the organiser for an invitation letter.
Getting there
The 2027 venue hasn't been announced, so there's no travel note yet. The 2026 edition was at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam.
What to expect
A specialist, working fair. You'll talk plant approvals, antibiotic testing, cold chain and your country's rules, which is exactly the conversation you need to have before a first order.
Before you sign, check the processing plant on your destination's approved list, and see quality control in India for how to draw your own sample.
