We pulled every EU Safety Gate alert on goods of Indian origin from January 2021 to September 2026, and toys showed up with a clear pattern. Six alerts were for N-nitrosamines in rubber and foam parts such as plastic tyres, and two more were for phthalates. The UK's product safety office logged four phthalate reports on Indian face stickers, a cricket set and hockey sticks in the same period (our rejections study, September 2026). Small numbers, but they tell you exactly what to ask a toy maker.
Toy Biz International is the Toy Association of India's B2B toy show at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Its audience is mostly domestic, with Indian retailers and distributors buying for the Indian market. An overseas importer can visit, and this page tells you how to make that worth it. The honest caveat - it isn't an export-sourcing fair, and we'd rather tell you that before you book.
Next edition
- Dates: 3 to 6 July 2027 (18th edition)
- Venue: Bharat Mandapam
- City: New Delhi
- Buyer registration: Toy Association of India event page (opens in a new tab) (read 28 September 2026). It lists the show's audience as manufacturers, exporters, traders and service providers, and gives no separate overseas-buyer route.
Who exhibits
The Toy Association of India organises the show. It's an industry body, not an export promotion council, and its members include traders as well as makers. So an exhibitor may import toys for the Indian market, distribute someone else's range or manufacture its own. All three are normal businesses.
If you want made-in-India toys then sort the stands early. Ask which products the exhibitor makes itself, in which unit, and whether it exports today and to where. India's toy exports are still small next to China's (a few hundred million dollars a year, by the figures we've seen), so a maker that already ships to your market is worth more than ten that don't.
Hosted-buyer terms
Not published, as at September 2026. We found no hosted-buyer programme. A separate reverse buyer-seller meet for toys, RBSM for Toys-Kids India, is listed for Mumbai on 18 to 20 March 2027 on our India fairs page, and that one is built for foreign buyers.
Visa
The e-Business Visa is the usual route. Apply at least two weeks ahead and ask the organiser for an invitation letter.
Getting there
Bharat Mandapam is at Pragati Maidan in central New Delhi. ITPO says the 123-acre complex has metro connectivity and underground parking, so check which gate serves your hall before you set off (ITPO, read 25 September 2026). July is monsoon season in Delhi, so leave slack in your travel between meetings.
What to expect
A domestic trade show. The pricing, packaging and safety marks on the stands are set for India, where toys need BIS certification under a quality control order. That mark says nothing about your market's rules.
So bring them with you. EU and UK buyers need the toy safety tests, including phthalates, element migration (lead among them), small parts and, for rubber and foam, nitrosamines. US buyers need CPSIA lead limits and third-party testing for a Children's Product Certificate. Ask each maker which of these it has tested to, at which lab, and ask to see a report for a product close to yours.
Go back to those Safety Gate alerts. Rubber tyres and foam are the weak spot, so if your range has them, test them before the goods ship, not after a border stop. Treat a good conversation at Toy Biz as a lead to verify, not a supplier found. If you want the maker checked and a pre-shipment test and inspection run, SourcingSync (opens in a new tab) does it, and our quality control guide explains how to plan it.
Past editions
- The 2027 show is the 18th edition. The association's event page doesn't describe earlier ones (read 28 September 2026), and we haven't found an official record of them.
