World Food India

World Food India is the Ministry of Food Processing Industries' show at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. It's a government event built to pull investment into Indian food processing, with a big exhibition attached. You can buy there, but that's not what it's designed around.

Our view - if you want structured meetings with Indian food exporters then Indusfood is the better trip. Come to World Food India if you want to see where the industry is heading, meet state governments and the large processors, or you're weighing an investment rather than a single order.

Who exhibits

The ministry organises the event. Exhibitors range from large processors and state pavilions to machinery and packaging firms, with country pavilions and investment sessions around the floor.

There's no exporter-only rule on the exhibitor side. A stand may sell only in India, or may be a trader showing goods made elsewhere, and both are normal. Ask who makes the product and whether the firm exports to your market today.

Hosted-buyer terms

Unknown, as at September 2026. The ministry hasn't published buyer terms for the next edition. If you want a supported food-buying trip then Indusfood runs a hosted programme with a screened application.

Visa

The e-Business Visa is the usual route. Apply at least two weeks ahead and ask the organiser for an invitation letter.

Getting there

Bharat Mandapam is at Pragati Maidan in central New Delhi. ITPO says the 123-acre complex has metro connectivity and underground parking, so check which gate serves your hall before you set off (ITPO, read September 2026).

What to expect

A policy-led event, with ministers on stage, investment announcements and country pavilions. Meetings with exhibitors aren't set up for you, so come with a shortlist and your own country's food rules, and use the days to see product and meet people rather than close orders.

One practical note. The ministry planned four regional World Food India editions for 2026-27 and then cancelled all four "due to unavoidable circumstances" (MoFPI circular, 17 June 2026). Plans for this event can move, so don't book anything non-refundable until the ministry publishes dates.
