IFJAS (India Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show)

"I don't wanna order something that has lead or something." That's a buyer abroad asking about Indian costume jewellery (r/ABCDesis, 2021), and another in the same vein said flatly "there's no fashion jewelry that doesn't have lead probably" (forum reply, 2025). The worry is fair, and it is also fixable. IFJAS is where you can put that question to a hall full of exporters face to face.

"I don't wanna order something that has lead or something." That's a buyer abroad asking about Indian costume jewellery (r/ABCDesis, 2021 (opens in a new tab)), and another in the same vein said flatly "there's no fashion jewelry that doesn't have lead probably" (forum reply, 2025). The worry is fair, and it is also fixable. IFJAS is where you can put that question to a hall full of exporters face to face.

IFJAS is the fashion jewellery and accessories fair run by EPCH, the handicrafts export council, and it is the specialist sibling of the IHGF Delhi Fair. If you buy costume jewellery, bags, belts, scarves or hair accessories then it's built for you. The caveat - the organiser's site hasn't announced the next edition, so this page describes the show as it last ran.

Next edition

  • Dates: Not announced on the organiser's site. As at 28 September 2026, ifjas.in (opens in a new tab) still shows the 19th edition, 4 to 6 July 2025. Some listing sites give dates for a 20th edition in 2026, but we can't find them on EPCH's own pages, so we don't repeat them.
  • Venue: Unknown for the next edition. The 19th was at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida.
  • City: Unknown (last held in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR)
  • Buyer registration: ifjas.in (opens in a new tab)

Who exhibits

EPCH organises the show, and exhibitors are EPCH members: registered handicraft exporters with an export track record. Membership does not prove an exhibitor makes the pieces on its stand. A lot of this sector runs through merchant exporters who design ranges and place them with small workshops for casting, plating and stone setting. That is how fashion jewellery works in India, and it's normal.

What matters is who answers for the metal. Ask which workshop makes your order, what base metal it uses, who does the plating and who checks findings and finish before shipment. Jaipur and Mumbai are the big names for this trade, and an exporter who can tell you which lanes its pieces come from usually knows its chain.

Hosted-buyer terms

Not published for the next edition, as at September 2026. For EPCH's larger IHGF fair the council offers discounted hotel rooms and transfers for pre-registered buyers rather than paid airfare. Expect a similar shape here, but confirm it with EPCH when registration opens.

Visa

The e-Business Visa is the usual route. Apply at least two weeks ahead and ask the organiser for an invitation letter, which EPCH issues for its fairs.

Getting there

The next venue isn't announced. If it returns to India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida (where the 19th edition and EPCH's IHGF fairs are held) then allow for a long road trip from central Delhi and the airport, and stay nearby if you can.

What to expect

A trade-only fair with a narrower range than IHGF, so a focused buyer covers it in a day. Fashion jewellery moves fast, and many exhibitors show ranges they will adapt or make to your designs. Bring your own reference pieces and colour cards.

Then bring your rules. Our study of official records from January 2021 to September 2026 found EU Safety Gate alerts on Indian jewellery and metalware for cadmium (7), lead (2) and nickel release (2), and 10 UK reports for heavy metals, most of them rejected at the border (SourcingFrom rejections study, September 2026). US buyers face lead limits for children's products under CPSIA and California's Prop 65 warnings, and EU buyers face REACH limits on nickel release, lead and cadmium. Ask each exhibitor what it tests for, which lab it uses and whether it can show a recent report on the same base metal and plating. A maker who has shipped to your market will have one ready. One who looks puzzled is telling you something too.

That buyer worried about lead was asking the right question in the wrong place. At IFJAS you can ask it across the table and ask for the report, not a promise. If you want a pre-shipment test and inspection run on the order you place, SourcingSync (opens in a new tab) handles it. Our quality control guide explains how to plan the checks yourself.

Past editions

  • 19th edition: 4 to 6 July 2025 at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, open 9 am to 6 pm (organiser's site, read 28 September 2026).
