India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS)
A US machine shop owner once described his Indian parts in one line - "super crooked drill holes, every single threaded hole needs to be retapped by us" (r/Machinists, 2021). Precision work is where foreign buyers report their worst India results, and it is also where the good Indian plants are very good. IESS is the one fair built to help you tell the two apart.

This page covers what the show is, what the last hosted-buyer package looked like and how to use three days of set meetings well. One honest caveat - the 13th edition has no date on the organiser's site yet, so treat everything about the next show as unconfirmed until EEPC publishes it.
Next edition
- Dates: Not yet announced on the organiser's site. As at 28 September 2026, iesshow.in (opens in a new tab) still shows IESS XII, Chennai, November 2024. Some listing sites name a 13th edition in Bengaluru, but we can't find it on EEPC's own pages, so we don't repeat it.
- Venue: Unknown
- City: Unknown

Who exhibits
EEPC India, the engineering export promotion council, runs the show. Exhibitors are council members, which means registered engineering exporters with a track record: castings, forgings, fasteners, pumps, valves, auto parts and machined goods. Engineering goods are India's largest export group, so the choice is wide.
Membership proves an export record. It does not prove the stand owns the foundry or the CNC shop. Some members are merchant exporters, and many plants send heat treatment, plating or heavy machining to job-work units nearby. That is normal in Indian engineering and often how the price works. What you need to know is who makes your part and who signs off the drawing.
So ask it straight - which plant pours or machines this, which steps go outside, and who runs the final inspection? A good exhibitor answers in a sentence. If the answer is vague then the part will be too.
Hosted-buyer terms
For the 2024 edition, EEPC offered three complimentary hotel nights (26, 27 and 28 November 2024) and airfare capped by country. The Indian embassy in the buyer's country screened every application, and hosted buyers had to be at the venue on all three days for B2B matchmaking (organiser's buyer page, read 28 September 2026).
That is a real commitment on both sides. The council pays for your room, and in return your calendar belongs to its meeting grid. The terms for the next edition are Unknown until the call opens, but we'd expect the same shape.
Visa
Use the e-Business Visa and apply at least two weeks ahead. Once the embassy screening clears you, ask the organiser for an invitation letter.
Getting there
No venue is announced, so there's no travel note yet. The last two editions moved around the south (Coimbatore, then Chennai), so don't assume Delhi.
What to expect
A strong fit if you buy parts made to drawing. The embassy screens your application, so write a real buyer profile: what you buy, in what material, at what volume. A vague "exploring India" application is the fastest way to get turned down.
Bring drawings, tolerances and annual volumes to every meeting. Ask for a sample of a similar part they already ship, and look at the threads and hole positions yourself. Our how to source from India guide covers the sampling steps, and quality control covers what to write into the inspection plan.
That machinist's retapped threads are the reason this fair is worth three days. You can hold the parts, meet the plant owner and walk away from anyone who can't show you a gauge report. If you want the shortlisted plants checked against their public records and an audit run before your first order, SourcingSync (opens in a new tab) does that.
Past editions
- 2024: IESS XII in Chennai. Hosted buyers got three hotel nights (26, 27 and 28 November 2024) and capped airfare, and had to attend all three days of compulsory B2B meetings after embassy screening (organiser's buyer page, read 28 September 2026).
- Earlier: IESS XI was held in Coimbatore, and IESS X has a post-show report on the organiser's site.
